2. Open the static-protective package and grasp the card by the edges and remove it from the package.
Set the card down on the static-protective package.
3. Remove the hex nuts from the RS-232 connectors and set them aside for future use.
4. Position the tray on a flat work surface.
5. Orient the logic card
A
(Figure 11 on page 34) so the connectors are facing the holes in the
faceplate.
6. Lower the front edge of the card into position on the tray just behind the faceplate.
7. Push the front edge of the card toward the faceplate, ensuring the two ESD tabs
B
(Figure 11 on
page 34) pass over the top of the USB connector housing.
Note:
There are two ESD tabs on the back of the face plate that must on top of the USB connectors
housing when the logic card is installed. If the two tabs are not on top of the connector
housing, remove the card and reinstall it.
8. Rotate the back of the card down onto the tray and push the logic card forward until the RS-232 and
power connectors pass through the holes.
9. Align the mounting holes on the fiscal logic card with the mounting holes on the tray and install the
three standoffs. The standoffs are installed in the two mounting holes near the rear edge of the logic
card and the mounting hole directly behind the stacked RS-232 connectors.
10. Install the I/O probe shield:
a. Align the holes in the I/O shield with the component parts on the logic card.
b. Set the I/O shield onto the logic card.
11. Install the electronic journal card slot assembly (see “Installing the electronic journal slot assembly” on
page 39 for information).
12. Install the program memory (see “Installing the program memory assembly” on page 41 for
information).
13. Install the hex nuts on the RS-232 connector or connectors.
14. Install the battery jumper
A
(Figure 12) on the jumper block
B
(Figure 12).
15. Place the cover on the tray and secure it using four screws. To ensure the fiscal memory pins align
with the connector on the logic card, place the front edge of the cover against the back of the
faceplate before lowering the cover.
