The Short Message Service (SMS) allows you to exchange text
messages with other phones. For details on SMS, contact your
service provider.
1.
In standby mode, press
J

).
The Message menu appears.
2.
Create Message SMS
The Create Message screen appears.
3.
Enter a message and press
@
.
The maximum number of characters for one SMS message is 70
(160 when you enter only letters of the alphabet and digits). If you
exceed the maximum number, the message is split into linking
SMS messages when it is sent. You can send up to 670
characters (1,530 when you enter only letters of the alphabet and
digits) at one time with linking messages.

Select how to set the address and press
J
(Select).
5.
Specify an address and press
@
.
The Recipients list appears.
6.
Select
Send SMS
and press
@
.
The message is sent and then saved to Sent Messages.
Creating & Sending an
SMS Message
You can add or edit an address, save the message to Drafts (page
86) or set sending options such as Delivery Report and Expiry
Time if you press
j
J
(Options) from the Recipients list.
