Using the TV Buttons on the Remote Control
Your VTR remote control will work with Toshiba televisions and compatible brands.
To determine whether your television is compatible, follow the instructions below.

Press the TV button on the Remote Control.
Hold down the TV button and enter the two digits of your TV’s
brand code (listed on page 60) using number buttons.
Release the TV button
With the remote control pointing at the Television, use each
button listed below to ensure that the TV is operated correctly.

Using the tape Counter
Using the Tape Counter
The tape counter :
•
Indicates the elapsed time in the play and record modes (hours, minutes and seconds)
•
Is reset when a cassette is inserted in the VTR
•
Allows you to find the zero position of a prerecorded programmes easily.

Insert a cassette in your VTR.
To set the tape counter to zero at the beginning of a recording or
playback:

Press DISPLAY twice to display the counter
♦
Press CLR/RST when you want to set the tape counter to zero
When you are ready,
♦
Start playback or Recording
♦
Press the STOP button.
♦
To fast-forward or rewind to the position at which the
counter was set to zero, press REW ( ) or FF ( ).

If several codes are indicated for your television brand, try each
one in turn until you find one that works.

When you change the batteries in the remote control, you must
reprogramme the code, following the same procedure.
Note :
Some TVs may not respond to all the operations listed above or may not
be operated at all with the VTR Remote Control. In which case operation
of the TV will have to be by its own Remote Control.
Note:
When the tape counter is not displayed on the screen, pressing
REW (
q
) or FF (
s
) will not return to zero counter position but
to the beginning or end of the tape.
Some VTR information, such as the counter, can be displayed on the
television screen (unless you have deactivated the OSD mode; refer
to page 14).
Press DISPLAY :
♦
Once to display the current function, programme number,
recording speed, date, time and counter
♦
Twice to display the counter only
♦
Three times to display the time remaining on the cassette
♦
Four times to clear the display.
Some VTR information, such as the time, counter and time
remaining can be displayed on the front display panel.
Each time you press COUNT/TR, the VTR display changes in
sequence as follows:

Clock
