Lead Length Specifications
Adhere to the NEC and any local codes during the installation of ASD/motor systems. Excessive lead
lengths may adversely effect the performance of the motor. Special cables are not required.
Table 1
lists
the suggested maximum lead lengths for the listed motor voltages. Lead lengths from the ASD to the
motor in excess of those listed in
Table 1
may require filters to be added to the output of the ASD.
Note:
Contact the TIC Customer Support Center for application assistance when using lead
lengths in excess of those listed.
Exceeding the peak voltage rating or the allowable thermal rise time of the motor
insulation will reduce the life expectancy of the motor.
When operating in the
Vector Control
mode the carrier frequency should be set to
2.2 kHz or above.
