XXX is the extension number of the calling party.
The VP 300 uses this display information to identify the source of the
call.
The VP 300 answers direct internal calls with a prompt determined by the
VP 300 COS attributes assigned to the calling extension’s mailbox. The
caller then has access to the VP 300’s call processing features. With
Called Party Identification, several convenience features are available for
extensions associated with single mailboxes. To take advantage of these
features, a caller must be calling the VP 300 directly from their own
extension. The VP 300 already knows the mailbox associated with each
extension, so the caller may:
•
Press
#
to enter the mailbox without entering the mailbox number. The
VP 300 asks for the mailbox password.
•
Press
0
to turn ON/OFF or change the mailbox’s personal greeting. This
feature is available only to mailboxes with INFORMATION Table Index
25 defined as YES.
•
Press
*
to send a Quick Message (IntraMessaging feature). When the VP
300 plays the message, it is preceded by the name recorded for the
mailbox associated with the extension. If a caller sends a Quick Message
from a phone other than their own, the message is preceded by the name
recorded for that phone’s mailbox.
When calling from any extension, a caller may:
•
Enter their own mailbox by pressing
#
followed by their mailbox number
and password.
•
Call a network location by dialing the network access code and
extension/mailbox number (Networking feature).
A direct call from the attendant results in a display containing the
following information:
Since this display does not include a mailbox number, the attendant
cannot access the CPI features available to other internal callers. The
VP 300 identifies a call from the attendant as a direct external call from
Trunk Group 00. This permits a call from the attendant to be processed
uniquely, if desired, by configuring a special VP 300 COS for Trunk
Group 00.
