Startup Wizard
Requirements
The Startup Wizard assists the user with the initial
configuration of the W7B ASD by querying the user
for information on the ASD control settings, motor
ratings, and ASD display units. The W7B ASD may
also be setup by directly accessing each of the
settings via the Program menu or by using the
Direct Access Number of each parameter (see the
section titled
Direct Access Parameters/Numbers
for specifics on each parameter).
Upon initial system power up, the Startup Wizard
starts automatically and the Welcome screen is
displayed. Click Next to continue with the Startup
Wizard or click Exit to go to the
screen.
1. Voltage and Frequency Rating
of the Motor
Motors are designed and manufactured for operation within a specific voltage
and frequency range. The voltage and frequency specifications for a given motor
may be found on the nameplate of the motor.
Settings:
2 — 460 V 50 Hz
3 — 690 V 60 Hz
2. Upper Limit Frequency
This parameter sets the highest frequency that the W7B ASD will accept as a
frequency command or frequency setpoint. The W7B ASD may output frequen-
cies greater than the Upper Limit Frequency (but, less than the Maximum Fre-
quency) when operating in the PID Control mode, Torque Control mode, or the
Vector Control modes (sensorless or feedback).
3. Lower Limit Frequency
This parameter sets the lowest frequency that the W7B ASD will accept as a fre-
quency command or frequency setpoint. The W7B ASD will output frequencies
lower than the Lower Limit Frequency when accelerating to the lower limit or
decelerating to a stop. Frequencies below the Lower Limit may also be output
when operating in the PID Control mode, Torque Control mode, or the Vector
Control modes (sensorless or feedback).
4. Adjust Accel/Decel Automati-
cally?
When enabled, the
W7B ASD
adjusts the acceleration and deceleration rates
according to the applied load. The acceleration and deceleration times range
from 12.5 to 800% of the programmed values [e.g., Acceleration Time 1
(
)
and Deceleration Time 1
) adjusted for the actual Accel/Decel times used].
Settings:
0 — Disabled (No)
1 — Enabled (Yes)
The motor and the load must be connected prior to selecting Automatic Accel/
Decel.
If Automatic Accel/Decel is disabled (No), the Acceleration screen will appear fol-
lowed by the Deceleration screen as shown below.
