CYLINDER DISPOSAL

NOTE:

Empty cylinders may contain a small amount of

residual chemical and pressure. The cylinders must be
relieved of both.
In a well-ventilated area, lay a cylinder on one of its ends.
With the top cylinder valve facing away from you, slowly open
the top yellow cylinder valve. Allow the cylinder to
depressurize for 15 minutes.
Where required by law, puncture the pressure relief valve and
dispose of chemicals according to instructions in the
Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
Dispose of empty cylinders according to local, state and/or
federal regulations. Steel cylinders may be recyclable.
Check your local recycling center.

CLEANING

All CPDS Series 2 system fittings and valves should be
cleaned with Touch ‘n Seal Poly-Clean.

WATER SEPARATOR

It is important to remove accumulated water from the air
compressor and the water separator. The air compressor (N) and
the water separator (R) both have manually operated drains.
These should be checked daily and emptied according to the
manufacturer’s manual provided with the CPDS Series 2.

ALTERNATIVE AIR PRESSURE SOURCES

The CPDS Series 2 operator may use dry nitrogen or an
external air compressor connected to the external air supply
quick coupler (Q) ¼ MNPT, ¼ body fitting on the back of the
CPDS Series 2 .

Warning! Input pressure from dry nitrogen or alternate
air compressors must not exceed 100 psi. The CPDS
Series 2 utilizes an air pressure booster. You must
use a pressure regulator with alternative air pressure
sources. Using alternative dry nitrogen or compressed
air in excess of 100 psi will raise the output pressure
above the maximum recommended level. Foam output
and quality will be affected and the system may be
damaged. The system warranty will be voided.

SYSTEM STORAGE

Store in a dry area between 60°-90°F (16°-27°C). DO NOT
store at temperatures above 120°F (49°C), near steam, open
flames, sparks, hot water pipes, chimneys, heat vents and
other heat sources.

.

If a partially used system remains inactive for a period of
time, the system should be pressurized every 2 weeks and
chemicals dispensed through the hoses until chemicals flow
forcefully. This will prevent crystallization of the chemical
and clear “old” product from the hoses.
Follow instructions in “SYSTEM SHUT DOWN PROCEDURE”.
Unopened chemical tanks have a shelf life of approximately
one year from date of manufacture.

CAUTION

Building Codes

In many areas, building codes may restrict the use of cellular
plastics or polyurethane foam as exposed, finished material
applications. Under certain application codes, the use of
these materials may be prohibited. The foam produced by
this product is organic and may constitute a fire hazard if
improperly applied. Consult local building codes.

Surface Temperatures

Polyurethane foam should not be used in direct contact
with chimneys, heat vents, steam pipes, or other surface
areas that exceed 240°F (116°C). The cured foam should
not be left exposed or inadequately protected when used as
an interior or exterior finishing material. In all applications,
it is strongly recommended that the foam be protected by
approved facings and coatings.

Open Flame

Do not smoke near or operate the system in close proximity
to an open flame. Welding on or near cured polyurethane
foam requires special precautions.

Excessive Foam

To avoid spontaneous foam combustion and maximize
yields, carefully follow application instructions in the “FOAM
APPLICATOR OPERATION & TROUBLESHOOTING” section.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

WARNING:

Contents of cylinders ‘A’ and ‘B’ are under

pressure.  The ‘A’ cylinder contains polymeric isocyanates, the
‘B’ cylinder contains polyols with amines and both cylinders
contain hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) propellants.
Use only in a well-ventilated area or with proper respiratory
protection. DO NOT breathe vapor or spray. In unventilated
areas, it is recommended that respirators be worn for at
least 15 minutes after use. Inhalation of vapors or mist
at concentrations in excess of permissible limits may
result in the development of respiratory sensitization.
Skin contact with diisocyanates may play a role in

respiratory sensitization. Once sensitized, a person may
experience a hypersensitive reaction when exposed to very
low concentrations of diisocyanate.
Anyone who has been sensitized in the past should not operate
or be in close proximity to the operation of these systems.

Depending on the potential for exposure, some or all of the
following personal protective equipment may be required:
safety glasses, chemical respirator, face shields, gloves,
aprons or coveralls, footwear, chemical protective jackets
and/or pants.

Avoid contact with eyes. If contact with eyes

occurs, flush with clean, low-pressure water for 15 minutes

while holding eyelids open. Seek medical attention. Avoid skin
contact. May cause irritation or sensitization. If the foam has
not cured (it is still moist), it may be removed by wiping off
with a dry cloth, or by using acetone or nail polish remover
containing acetone. Do not use soap and water as moisture
helps to cure foam. No solvent will remove cured (dry) foam.
Cured foam is not harmful to health and will wear off in time. A
pumice stone with warm, soapy water may be used to gently
scrape dried foam from skin. You may also apply petroleum
jelly to area and cover with a plastic glove, wait about an hour
then wash area with soap and water. Always engage spray
foam applicator safety when not in use. For more specific
information about the chemical components “A” and “B”, refer
to the appropriate Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
