INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1 Check spark plug and spark

(See Pub. No. RM467E).

Go to step 4.

2 Check for open and short in harness and connector in IGF signal circuit between

engine ECU and IIA

(See page IN--21).

Repair or replace harness or connector.

3 Disconnect IIA connector and check voltage between terminal IGF of engine

ECU connector and body ground.

PREPARATION:

(a)

Disconnect IIA connector.

(b) Remove the glove compartment.

(See page FI -- 6

)

(c)

Turn ignition switch ON.

CHECK:

Measure voltage between terminal IGF of ECU connector and
body ground.

OK:

Voltage: 4.5 -- 5.5 V

Replace igniter.

Check and replace engine ECU

(See page IN--21).
