18.2.7 Removing Tar from the Regulator (LPG and GasolineLPG
models)

Tar tends to collect in the regulator and it
must be removed regularly. Please refer to
the periodic maintenance table. Tar removal
should be completed as listed below after the
engine has cooled down.
1. Set the fuel changeover switch to the
OFF position (Gasoline LPG models)
and open the engine hood.
2. Put an oil pan under the regulator hose.
Open the plug or the drain cock (Option)
and let tar drop into the oil pan.
3. After all tar is removed from the regu
lator, close the plug completely, or turn
the drain cock (Option) to the horizontal
position.
CAUTION! Be sure to close the plug or the
drain cock completely after removing tar,
or it will cause LPG gas leakage.
CAUTION! If tar is adhering to the truck, it
must be wiped off completely with a
cloth.
