Installation and commissioning
7.1
Directives and standards
The product conforms with the following directives and stand-
ards:
Machine Directive 2006/42/EC
EN ISO 12100:2010
Machines for man riding or man riding and material handling
(transport of persons):
EN 1808:
2015
The operator or the system manufacturer is responsible for en-
suring that the machine is used within the limits specified in these
instructions. The operator or the system manufacturer must also
observe the directives and standards for the machine in which
the unit will be fitted.
7.2
Checks to be undertaken before
starting installation
Inspecting the installation site
–
Check if other components obstruct a correct installation.
The installation space must not contain any sharp or edged
components.
The chain for the push trolleys with reel drives must never
get jammed on an obstruction.
–
Check to ensure that the deflection roller, the rigging and
the on-site anchoring point all have the necessary minimum
breaking strength, see 'Structural requirements' on page 5.
If hoisting gear is attached directly to the anchoring point
(see Fig. 10) then the dead weight of all line components
and the dynamic proportion of the load from the hoisting
gear drive system must be taken into account.
The cam radius of the support must concur with the specifi-
cations of the push trolley that is being used.
–
Check to ensure that the push trolley does not systematical-
ly run up against the stops fitted at the end of the support.
–
Check that the mounting does not cover any nameplates
(see Fig. 12).
Inspecting the push trolley
–
Inspect the push trolley to ensure that it is complete (see
'3.2 Scope of delivery' on page 4 and '4.2 Components /
Modules' on page 6).
–
Inspect the push trolley for any signs of damage.
7.3
Assembly
Requirements
Assembly may only be performed by trained personnel.
The workplace must have adequate lighting.
Two people are needed to install heavy push trolleys.
Installing the push trolley
See Fig. 3 and Fig. 5.
–
Screw the load bolt (2) into the side plate (1) marked with an
'L' for approx. 5 x turns (left-hand thread).
–
Screw the second side plate (3) onto the load bolt (2) for
approx. 5 turns (right-hand thread).
–
Screw the load bolt (2) in until the crank handle (4) can be
fitted.
–
Fit the crank handle (4) over the pin (5) on the load bolt (2)
and then tighten the threaded bush (6) (left-hand thread).
–
Place the copper discs (7) in the threaded holes (8).
–
Fit the threaded pins (9), but do not tighten them.
Push trolley fitted with a locking brake (see Fig. 4 and Fig. 5):
–
Unscrew the spindle (10).
Anchoring the push trolley on the support
Anchoring on the support
See Fig. 6.
–
Check to ensure that the suspension eye sits in the centre
between the two side plates (2).
–
Turn the crank handle (3) to move the push trolley until it
can be pushed over the support (4).
–
Turn the crank handle (3) to withdraw the push trolley until
there is a maximum play of 2.5 mm (size x) between the
roller flange and the edge of the support.
–
Tighten the treaded pins (5).
–
Remove the crank handle (3).
Push trolley fitted with a locking brake (see Fig. 7):
–
Set the locking brake spindle (6) so that it does not touch
the support’s rubber flange (size y).
Installing the chain (push trolley with reel drive)
See '12.4 Repair work' on page 10.
Attach the load
See Fig. 9.
–
Attach the hoisting gear’s hook (1) or other rigging (e.g.
shackle) so that the suspension eye (2) points downwards.
You must ensure that the size of the hook (1) fits the sus-
pension eye (2). The safety guard (3) must be closed.
