Transport and storage
14.1
Transport
General transporting instructions
Ensure that no damage occurs during the transporting.
Always use suitable transport equipment and get a second per-
son to help you with heavy components.
Hoist
–
There are eyes on the frame for transport using a crane or
other means. Select the length of the hoisting gear such that
a maximum tilt of 15° in every direction occurs, see Fig. 29.
–
Use a pallet when transporting in a vehicle and secure the
hoist using tensioning straps.
Free reeler
–
Run the rope off of the free reeler and onto a reel for trans-
portation.
Driven reeler
The rope can remain on the driven reeler.
Ropes
–
Transport the ropes on the reels whenever possible.
–
Rolled-up ropes without reels should be lifted and trans-
ported using a lifting strap.
–
Minimize the load resulting from the dead weight as much
as possible.

Mandatory inspections
A written certificate is required for the annual safety inspection
and any exceptional tests. The inspections must be recorded in
the logbook included with delivery.
Prior to every use
Always check to ensure that the device is in an orderly working
condition before use, see '9.4 Commissioning' on page 15.
Annual safety inspection
The safety inspection must be carried out annually.
The safety inspection may only be undertaken by authorized
maintenance personnel, see '15.1 Authorized maintenance per-
sonnel' on page 21. Depending on the usage conditions (e.g.
operation in an extremely dirty environment), an intermediate
inspection may be necessary.
When using rotation-resistant wire ropes:
Depending on the application and the environmental conditions
(suspended load, dirt on the rope, etc.) the hoist's traction
sheave may become prematurely worn. The traction sheave
must be changed if it is found to be worn.
We recommend that the system is tested in our factory by
TRACTEL Greifzug GmbH.
General overhaul
The general overhaul periods are, at the latest (depending upon
which occurs first):
