BASIC SAFETY RULES
• This appliance must not be used by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or
mental capabilities, nor should it be used by people with no experience or knowledge unless they
have been instructed on how to use the appliance or are under supervision from someone responsible
for their safety.
• Never use the lawn mower near people, especially children, or pets. When not in use, the lawn mower
should be stored out of the reach of children.
• Children should be supervised so that they do not play on the equipment.
• Do not allow inexperienced people to use the lawn mower without reading the instruction manual
before. Do not allow children to use the lawn mower. The operator or user is responsible for accidents
or damages caused to other people or property. Local legislation may restrict the age of the operator.
• Before mowing the lawn, clear the area of any rocks, twigs, wires, bones, or any other such objects.
• Always wear sturdy closed-toed shoes, long trousers, and safety goggles during work. Do not operate
the equipment when barefoot or wearing sandals.
• In steep places use non-skid footwear and cut the grass transversally, never up or down. Also be very
careful when changing direction. Avoid working in places with a sharp incline. Be careful where you
step especially on hillsides.
• Never run while using the equipment.
• Do not use the mower on excessively steep hills.
• Do not incline the equipment when switching the engine on. Keep hands and feet away from rotating
parts. When using rotary lawn mowers, always keep a distance from the discharge opening. Only
switch it on when your hands and feet are safely away from the cutting assembly. Use protective
gloves to change the blade.
• Never work with the lawn mower under the rain or on wet grasses and always use during the day or
with good artificial lighting.
• Check the state of the grass catcher frequently. If you find it to be worn or deteriorating replace the
components to avoid risk. Make sure that the grass outlets are always clear.
• Never use the lawn mower if the safety devices are not in perfect condition. Never operate the
equipment if the safety devices are damaged.
• Regularly inspect the power cable. Never splice power cables. If the feeder cord is damaged it must
be replaced by an Authorized Technical Service or a qualified individual, in order to prevent the risk
of electrical shocks.
• For any maintenance, cleaning, transportation, storage and/or setting procedure switch the lawn
mower’s engine off, unplug the power cable and wait for the blade to stop completely.
• Be extremely careful when reversing or pulling the equipment toward you.
• Lock the blade if the equipment has to be leaning to be transported across surfaces outside the lawn,
or when transporting the equipment to the area to be mowed.
• Never lift up or transport a piece of equipment with a running engine.
• Before using the appliance, check whether the blades, screws, and cutting assembly are worn or
damaged. Replace worn or damaged cutting assembly blades and screws to keep the balance.
• If the equipment vibrates in an unusual way, it must be checked immediately.
