Additional Safety and Operation Instructions
Check if the machine voltage is the same as that of
the power grid, in case of equipment with electric
motor.
In case of equipment with a gasoline-powered
engine, make sure the engine was filled with oil in
the crankcase and regular gasoline in the tank.
Carefully read instructions and get familiar with the
controls and proper used of the equipment.
Remember that the operator or user is responsible for
any accident or damage involving people or their
properties.
Use the shredder in a flat place and free of obstacles.
Avoid operating the equipment in humid places.
Use the equipment in a well lit environment.
Before feeding any kind of foliage, start the motor
and wait for it to reach maximum revolution. In
equipment provided with universal mounting base,
turn the motor on and after reaching the maximum
rotation, it is necessary to tension the belt in the
universal mounting base tensioner as indicated
on page 58 of this manual, then, the work can be
started.
Do not introduce anything in the equipment with
the motor off.
Do not use the equipment in periods of power
drops, in case of electric motor-powered equipment.
Whenever conducting any cleaning or maintenance
operation, first make sure the motor is off, that the
blade is stopped and remove the extension cord
from the socket in case of an electric motor-powered
equipment and the spark plug cable from the engine
in case of a combustion engine-powered equipment.
If the equipment starts to vibrate, turn it off and
immediately unplug it. Check the cause of the
vibration as it indicates that the equipment needs
adjustment and repair.
Some shredders are provided with a rubber pad
intended to decrease the equipment vibration, never
attach the shredder to the ground so as to prevent the
warranty from being lost due to excessive machine
vibration.
Attention!
Frequently check if all screws are well
tightened, mainly the counter cutting blade
one. Always keep the counter cutting blade
adjusted to assure the good performance of
the shredder.
Check the status of the power supply cord. Never fix
it with insulating tape.If necessary, replace the cord
by an original one.
Never use water jet to clean the equipment, use a
wet cloth and neutral detergent and a TRAPP sprayer.
Water in the equipment may cause damages to the
motor electrical circuits, in addition to increasing the
risk of electrical shock.
Clean the cutting assembly at each operation
to avoid material buildup on the disk shaft and
hammers.
Never operate the shredder with the cover open or
without the belt protection guard.
