Important Recommendations
Never start or leave the engine running in a confided
area or without proper ventilation. The gas from
the exhaust contains carbon monoxide which is
inodorous and lethal.
This shredder is provided with a four-cycle motor
and there is no oil added to the gasoline (for
shredders with motor).
Before operating, make sure the crankcase oil level
is right.
The motor leaves factory with neither oil nor fuel.
Never store the equipment with gasoline in the tank.
If required, keep the engine on until it turns off due
to the lack of fuel.
Never service the shredder with the motor on.
For any kind of maintenance the spark plug must be
disconnected.
Warm the motor up before operating the shredder.
Caution: gasoline is highly flammable.
Turn off the motor before removing the fuel cap.
Do not add gasoline when the motor is running or
still hot.
Oil Change for the Gasoline Motor
All oils must correspond to API SG-SL classification.
1. Equipment must be on a flat and level surface.
Remove the oil plug (2) using an appropriate
wrench, protection glasses and appropriate
gloves.
2. The oil will be more easily drained if it is already
warmed up and with the oil dipstick (1) open.
3. Collect used oil in proper container.
Attention!
If motor is hot when changing oil, be careful to
remove oil container. Hot oil is released with
more pressure, and may cause burns.
4. Do not discard the dirty oil and the oil package
as a common waste or in the environment, check
the oil manufacturer's recommendation for the
correct disposal.
5. When oil has been fully drained, screw back oil
container.
6. Remove cap 1 to access the crankcase and add
20W 50 oil according to the engine specification
on page 53 of this manual.
7. Check the level of oil with indicating rod. For
better reading, firmly hold cover on tube before
removing the rod. Keep oil at rod “
Full
” level.
8. Discard the used oil and container in an
appropriate place as recommended by the oil
manufacturer.
