8-4 Adjusting Flow Control Valves
NOTE:
The flow control valve provides a smooth, constant feed of
the cutting tool through the nozzle. The feed rate is dependent on
the amount of spatter accumulated. If a smaller amount of spatter
accumulates, the feed rate can be set faster. A feed rate that is set
too fast may stall the motor or damage the cutter blade.
To adjust the flow control valve(s):
1. There are flow control valves located on the spindle unit for
adjusting the lift/retract speed of the spindle. They are located
behind the spindle cover.
2. To increase the feed rate of the cutter blade (lift speed), pull
out on the grey knob of the top flow control valve and turn
counterclockwise.
3. To increase the retract speed of the cutter blade, pull out on the
grey knob of the bottom flow control valve and turn
counterclockwise.
4. To decrease either the lift speed or retract speed, turn the
respective grey knob clockwise.
5. Once the desired setting is achieved, push the grey knob in to
lock it in position.
