Owner of the machine
2.3.1
Owner
An owner is any natural or legal person who uses the machine, or entrusts
third parties to use the machine and is responsible for the safety of the us-
er, the personnel or third parties during the use.
In your capacity as the owner, obtain confirmation from your personnel that
the operating manual has been read and understood. Use the template in
the Chapter “Appendix for this purpose. If you require more copies of the
operating manual, contact either your TREIF sales partner or TREIF direct-
ly.
2.3.2
Obligations of the owner
The organisational measures concern the work processes in the company
where the machine is operated.

Check every day that all safety equipment is working correctly before
starting up the machine.

In addition to these operating instructions, observe the generally appli-
cable legal and other mandatory regulations for the prevention of acci-
dents and protection of the environment.

Within the European Union, comply with the national regulations ac-
cording to EU Directive 89/391/EEC (in Germany the Ordinance on Op-
erational Health and Safety (BetrSichV)).

The owner of the machine creates internal operational instructions gov-
erning the activities of and requirements for the persons who work on
the machine. These instructions must take account of the qualification,
experience, technical knowledge and the physical, sensory and mental
capabilities of the persons entrusted with the relevant work.

The machine must not be left unattended while in operation. Only ap-
propriately qualified, authorised and trained specialist personnel work
on the machine.

Persons under the age of 14 are never permitted to work on the ma-
chine. In addition to this operating manual, the legal and other manda-
tory regulations for the protection of minors in the country of use must
be observed.

Persons between the age of 14 and 18 may only work on the machine
under the supervision of a trained and instructed person. In addition to
this operating manual, the legal and other mandatory regulations for
the protection of minors in the country of use must be observed.

Always observe the applicable age and occupation-specific
regula-
tions
for the personnel deployed at the operating site.

At least once a year, all safety-related equipment of the machine must
be checked for damage by TREIF Service or by skilled personnel
trained and authorised by TREIF.

The operator must regularly check that personnel work in a safety and
risk-conscious manner in compliance with the operating manual.

Every person responsible for installing, starting-up, operating and
maintaining the machine must have read and understood the complete
operating manual, particularly the "“Safety" chapter.
