12VDC Power Output
The CamView can supply up to 12 Watts (1A) of 12V DC power for cameras.
This feature is intended to provide a brief temporary power source to verify
camera operation and to allow the camera to be pointed and focused. Use of
this feature places a heavy drain on the CamView’s battery, and can shorten
the operating time of the product to less than 1 hour.
It is suggested that cameras requiring extensive setup are either setup in the
shop using an AC power source, rather than at the jobsite using the CamView
as a power source. Alternately, the camera can be setup at the jobsite using
the power source provided for the camera at the jobsite.
The 12V output on the CamView is short circuit protected by a thermal circuit
breaker. If the 12V wires are accidentally shorted together, the breaker will
open removing power from the wires. It may take several minutes for the
breaker to cool and repower the 12V output. During this time, the rest of the
product will operate normally.
If the 12V wires are accidentally shorted to the video circuit, electronic
protection automatically shuts the entire product down. When this happens,
the product will not power up until the circuit is reset by plugging in the
battery charger. If the battery charger is not available, the battery cover may
be removed and the internal battery cable unplugged for 10 seconds, then
reconnected. The product will be reset to the factory defaults.
Audio Input
The CamView PTZ 2 has an audio input to allow it to monitor an audio
source. The circuit is low power, has a fixed gain, and not intended to provide
a loud sound. To use this feature, plug the provided cable into the Audio
Input jack (29) on the side of the product and connect the clips to the audio
signal source.
