3.1 Precauti ons Before Using Tribike
NEVER EXCEED THE INDICATED MAXIMUM WEIGHT! REFER TO THE SPECIFICATIONS
TABLE FOR FURTHER DETAILS.
Make sure the device is turned off (Tribike E) before att aching it or remove it from the
wheelchair, or for users with minor disability, before getti ng on or off the wheelchair.
Before every use of Tribike, a series of preliminary safety checks is required:
During the fi rst use of Tribike, start slowly and proceed with cauti on. Each manoeuvre may carry risk, and it
is important to become familiar with Tribike and build up the necessary confi dence. Parti cular care should
be taken during steering and accelerati on.
Choose a calm and safe environment for the fi rst use of Tribike and always have somebody at your side that
has read the manual and who can help you in case of need.
Safe use of Tribike for yourself and others requires training and experience and knowledge of legislati on
regarding pedestrian areas and roads in the country where it will be used.
• check that the fi xed or mobile axles of the rear wheels and the seat and rear support of your wheelchair
are intact and fi rmly fi xed in place;
• check that the ti re pressure matches what is indicated on the ti res (low ti re pressure on the wheelchair
leads to an increased risk of ti pping) and, if necessary, introduce more air;
• check that the ti re pressure of the Tribike is suitable and compliant with what is indicated on the ti res
and in the “technical specifi cati ons” table in this manual;
• check that the Tribike frame is intact, without signs of breakage, and that it correctly connects and
disconnects from the wheelchair. In the case of breakage or damaged parts, contact your agent or Tribike
customer support. Refer to the installati on procedures contained in this manual for queries regarding
correct installati on;
• check that all components, especially screws, are suffi ciently ti ght and that the brakes are working
correctly;
• check that the electrical connecti ons and cables are in good conditi on and that the batt ery is correctly
inserted. In the case of damaged connecti ons or cables, contact your agent or Tribike customer support;
