Errors and faults

The device has been checked for proper functioning several
times during production. If malfunctions occur nonetheless,
check the device according to the following list.
Troubleshooting tasks which require the housing to be opened
must only be carried out by an authorized specialist electrical
company or by Trotec.

Light smoke or odour is emitted during the first use:

This is not a fault. These phenomena disappear after a
brief runtime.

The device does not start:

Check the power connection.

Check the power cable and mains plug for damage. If you
notice damages, do not try to take the device back into
operation.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.

Check the on-site fusing.

Check the outside temperature. At temperatures
below +5 °C, the motor becomes sluggish and can be
difficult or impossible to start up. Do not use the device at
an temperatures below +5 °C.

The device is running but there is no apparent inflation /
The pressure gauge shows no pressure:

Check the valve adapter used for proper fit. Air might be
escaping at the valve of the item to be inflated.

Let the device run for a moment. The pressure will only be
shown on the pressure gauge after the pressure inside the
item to be inflated has exceeded the ambient pressure.

Check the item to be inflated for leaks.

Check the compressed-air gun for proper functioning, and
replace it if necessary.

The device is running but there is no pressure build-up:

The check valve is leaky. Have the check valve inspected
and, if necessary, replaced by a specialist workshop.

Check the seals. Have broken seals replaced by a
specialist workshop.

The device is running but the connected accessories do not
work:

Check the accessories for proper functioning. Replace
defective accessories.

Check the compressed-air hose and the quick coupling,
and have them replaced by a specialist workshop if
necessary.

The device becomes hot:

Note

The device is not suitable for continuous operation.
Over a period of 10 minutes, do not use the device for
more than 1.5 minutes in continuous operation. Allow
the device to cool down for the remaining time.
Should the device be overheating nonetheless, switch
the device off and disconnect it from the mains.
Allow the device to cool down sufficiently before
switching it back on.

Check whether the device is suitable for the tasks to be
carried out.

Keep the venting slots or air inlet and outlet clear to
prevent the motor from overheating.

Note

Wait for at least 10 minutes after maintenance and
repair work. Only then switch the device back on.
