Connecting to an electric fence
1 Push an earth rod fully into firm ground. If the ground is
dry or sandy, performance can be improved by using a
longer 1 m (3'3") earth stake that can be obtained from
your fencing supplier.
2 Connect the green earth lead from the Earth terminal
( ) on the energizer to the earthing system.
3 Connect the yellow fence lead from the Fence terminal
( ) on the energizer to the fence. Make sure there is a
good contact. If necessary, carefully strip the polywire to
expose steel strands in order to provide a good
connection.
Operating the 0.15 J model
energizer
Switching on and off
1 To switch on the energizer, press once.
The two indicator lights illuminate briefly, then the pulse
indicator will flash.
2 To switch off the energizer, press again.
The pulse indicator will stop flashing.
Changing the pulse speed

To change the pulse speed, press .
Fast pulse speed pulses every 1.5 seconds to maximise
energizer effectiveness.
Slow pulse speed pulses every 2.5 seconds to maximise
battery life.
Note:
The energizer pulses at fast speed when first switched
on. The pulse indicator light flashes each time the energizer
pulses.
Operating the 0.3 J model energizer
The 0.3 J model energizer has an optional security locking
feature that requires a security code to be entered to switch
on the energizer.
Switching on and off
1 To switch on, press and hold until the display turns
on.
2 To switch off, press and hold until the display turns
off.
Changing the power level
•
Press briefly to change between half power and full
power.
The pointer changes to indicate half power or full
power .
Changing the pulse speed
To change the pulse speed, press repeatedly until the two
pointers ( ) on the right-hand side of the display indicate the
required setting.

Note:
In night mode, the energizer senses darkness using
the light sensor and automatically changes the pulse speed.
Ensure the light sensor remains clean at all times, by wiping
away any excessive dirt and water deposits off the top label.
Locking the energizer with a security code
1 Press and hold until the display turns on.
2 Press and together until the display shows zero
and the padlock pointer flashes.
3 Press until the display shows the desired security
code. This can be any number between 01 and 99.
Tip:
To step through numbers more quickly, press and
hold down .
4 Press three times to save the security code.
The display returns to normal with the padlock pointer
on. The security code will now be required each time the
energizer is switched on.

1 Press and hold until the display turns on and shows
two question marks

2 Press until your security code appears on the display.
3 Press briefly to unlock and turn on the energizer.
Changing the security code
1 Press and hold until the display turns on and shows
two question marks

3 Press briefly to unlock and turn on the energizer.
4 Press and together until the display shows

5 Press until the display shows your current security
code.
6 Press briefly. The display shows zero
and the
padlock pointer flashes.
7 Press until the display shows the new code number
required.
8 Press three times to save the new security code.
The display returns to normal, with the padlock pointer
on, indicating the security code feature is enabled.
