Heart Rate Not Functional or Erratic
Readings
Locate any RF sources and use a process of elimination.
Common sources of RF interference include: invisible fences,
Wi-Fi networks, cordless phones, cell phones, radios, home
security sensors, etc.
Verify the Polar HR with an alternate heart rate strap. If the
Polar strap is good,
replace the Polar HR receiver
. If the Polar
strap is bad,
replace the strap
.
Verify that the treadmill is connected to a dedicated line, 15
amp circuit, and is not on an extension cord. Do an outlet test
to check for 110V to 120V on the wall outlet.
Ensure that the Polar HR receiver is not touching any metal
and is mounted with the wires in a vertical position with the
receiver facing the runner.
If HR receiver is mounted correctly but still not Polar HR,
replace the Polar heart rate receiver
.
Check for contact heart rate using the grips.
If no heart rate through grips, check for continuity through the
grips to the upper computer board.
If there is no continuity through the grips to the computer board,
replace the grip assembly or HR wires.
