also be reached without using the menu
by pressing the ENTER key directly.

10.3 LCD
display
The LCD screen allows you to view the photographs and video clips, use the menu,
etc. This can be switched off in order to save the batteries.
Photo mode:
- Press the Display button (10, Figure 2) to hide the white symbols.
- Press the Display button again to turn the LCD screen off. You can use the optical
view finder (4, Figure 1)
- Press the Display button again to turn the LCD screen on again.
N.B.:
You cannot change anything in the menu when the LCD screen is
switched off.
Display mode:
- Press the Display button (10, Figure 2) to hide the details.
- Press the Display button again to show the details again.
11 Taking a photograph.
This section gives an explanation of the extra characteristics of taking photographs
using the camera.
With an analogue camera, a
mechanical
sound can be heard when something is
altered or a setting is changed. This is not the case with a digital camera. Therefore,
beeps are heard. This function cannot be turned off.
11.1
Zooming in and out
This camera has a 4x digital zoom. The digital zoom increases the size of the image
by digitally processing it.
Press the up button to zoom in.
Press the down button to zoom out.
Whilst zooming in or out, the change in size is displayed in the zoom bar on the left-
hand side of the LCD screen.
N.B.:
Use the LCD screen when using the digital zoom.
N.B.:
The quality of the image is reduced when using the digital zoom.

Setting the flash
Setting the flash:
1.
Switch the camera on.
2.
Open the flash menu (section 10.1)
3.
Select the correct position using Table 8.
