Installation
The installation steps are as follows:
1.Connect the electrical appliances to Always On outlet or Switched outlet.
Note: The Always On outlets will provide constant power. The switched outlets will be
controlled by PowerPort and the On or Off will depend on the current consumption
status. Details please refer to specifications.
2.Connect the telephone RJ11 cable, Ethernet Cat 5 RJ45 cable and coaxial cable to
PowerPort for surge protection.
Caution
1. Make sure the power source is properly grounded, then use the power cord supplied
with the PowerPort to connect it to the power source.
2. If your installation requires a different power cord than the one supplied with the
power supply, be sure the cord is adequately sized for the switch's current
requirements. In addition, be sure to use a power cord displaying the mark of the
safety agency that defines the regulations for power cords in your country. The mark is
your assurance that the power cord can be used safely with this product.
Operation
The operation steps are as follows:
1. Plug the power cord into AC power source.
Caution: Make sure the correct operating voltage of PowerPort before connecting it into
AC power source.
2. The current display panel flashes once and the LEDs of Surge Protection, Grounding, and
Always On are lit.
Note: At this moment only the electricity of the Always On outlets are on but the switched
outlets are still off.
3. Use IR remote to turn on the PowerPort. The current display panel and Power LED will be
turned on.
Note: 1. The PowerPort has limited reception frequency range as described in the
Electrical of Specifications. Please consult the service agency of electrical appliance if
your remote can't turn on the PowerPort.
2. Any function keys of IR remote should be able to enable the PowerPort product.
3. The PowerPort product can't be turned off unless unplugs the power cord from AC
power source.
4. The IR LED will flash once when receives the signal.
4. The switched outlets are supplying the power to connected electronic appliances.
5. Turn on the connected electronic appliances.
Note: The current display will show the current consumption of total switched outlets only.
6. The PowerPort will automatically detect variation of total power consumption. If the total
power consumption descends more than 70% of peak loading current for 3 minutes the
PowerPort will be shut down and turned into standby mode.
Note : 1. Details please see the shutdown conditions in the specifications.
2. Only the electricity of switched outlets will be off but the Always On outlets are still on.
7. Repeat the Step 3 to turn on the connected electrical appliances again once the PowerPort
has been turned into standby mode.
