Micro Pressure Cooker
• Place the cover on the base in such a way that the arrow on
the cover is in line with the arrow on the base (see fig. G).
• Turn the cover in clockwise direction until the side handles of
the cover and the base are positioned on top of each other. If
you feel excessive resistance, ensure that the silicone cover
gasket is positioned correctly inside the cover rim (see fig. C).
• Push down the safety lock handle to lock the Micro Pressure
Cooker until you hear a click (see fig. H).
4.6 How to use your Micro Pressure Cooker in the
microwave oven?
• Set the cooking time and wattage as instructed in the section
Main Cooking Times.
• The recommended power is 900 WATTS (min. 600 WATTS).
• Do not cook for more than 30 minutes at a time. Let both the
product and the microwave cool down before re-using.
• Cooking at more than 30 minutes may cause damage to the
product and to your microwave.
• The pressure indicator rises when the Micro Pressure Cooker
starts building pressure (see fig. I); this is the moment when the
liquid starts to boil. This will take several minutes depending on
the amount of liquid/food.
• When the Micro Pressure Cooker is fully pressurized, the
pressure regulator valve releases pressure gently. This action is
normal and allows excess steam to escape. You may also hear
a hissing sound or have condensation against your microwave
window. This is normal.
• In case the pressure regulator valve doesn’t work, then the
pressure indicator valve will release the excess of pressure. This
is a built in safety feature. After cooking, inspect the pressure
regulator valve for defect and cleanliness as instructed in the
section “5. How to clean your Micro Pressure Cooker?”.
• When using a microwave without rotating plate, place the Micro
Pressure Cooker with the pressure indicator valve facing the
window of the microwave in order to check if this safety valve
releases any pressure.
• When the microwave beeps, do not remove the Micro Pressure
Cooker from your microwave until the standing time is over. The
standing time is calculated as part of the total cooking time for
each recipe and is required; it allows for the pressure to drop
naturally and the food to finish cooking. The pressure indicator
will go down. See section “7. Main cooking times”.
4.7 What to do with your Micro Pressure Cooker after
Microwave cooking? (see fig. L)
• While the Micro Pressure Cooker is still under pressure, leave
it in the microwave until the pressure has dropped. Wear oven
gloves to remove the Micro Pressure Cooker from the microwave
and let it stand on a trivet. Always transport the Micro Pressure
Cooker in upright position.
!NOTE: Never cool down your micro pressure cooker underneath
tap water or submerge it in water to accelerate the release of
pressure.
!NOTE:
Do not touch the safety devices when the micro pressure
cooker is pressurized.
• After the pressure indicator has dropped and after the standing
time, the cover can be opened while wearing oven gloves. Do
not stand above the pressure cooker when performing this
operation.
• Unclip and lift the safety lock handle by its tab (at the end of the
handle) until you hear a click (see fig E). Be careful, steam will
escape from the safety lock plug (see fig. J). Never place your
hand without oven gloves over this plug as hot steam may burn
your hand.
• Turn the cover in counter clockwise direction, until the arrows on
the cover and base are aligned (see fig F).
• Always lift the cover away from you so the steam does not burn
your fingers.
!NOTE: never use the safety lock to turn the cover as it may lead
to breakage.
• Do not open the Micro Pressure Cooker until the pressure
indicator has dropped. This means the internal pressure has
been released. DO NOT FORCE TO OPEN.
5. How to clean your Micro Pressure Cooker?
• Clean and rinse your Micro Pressure Cooker immediately after
cooling and let dry. This will reduce strong smells and/or staining.
In case of strong smell, clean your Micro Pressure Cooker for
one cycle in the dishwasher at 75°C.
• Wash the pressure regulator valve and the pressure indicator
valve with the pressure indicator separately when they are dirty.
• Pressure regulator valve
• To remove, push down with one finger until the valve falls out.
• To apply, press down into the opening at the top of the cover
(see fig. K). You can place it in either direction. Always verify it’s
well placed from both sides of the cover.
• Pressure indicator valve with pressure indicator
• To remove, push down with one finger until the indicator falls
out.
• For better cleaning, remove the pressure indicator from the
pressure indicator valve.
• To apply, first assemble the pressure indicator into the
pressure indicator valve by pushing its rounded head through
the opening of the valve. Then with the rounded head of the
pressure indicator facing up, push it through the opening at the
back of the cover (see fig. K). Always verify it’s well placed from
both sides of the cover
!NOTE: The diameter of the pressure regulator valve and the
pressure indicator valve are the same, so they can be placed in
either cover hole.
!NOTE: There is only 1 way to assemble the pressure indicator
and the pressure indicator valve into the cover hole!
• All parts are designed to be cleaned in the dishwasher. Use a
low temperature program on your dishwasher to save energy
and protect the environment.
• Do not let sharp objects come in contact with the safety devices.
• If any food sticks, soak the product briefly in warm soapy water.
• Do not use abrasive cleaning pads or abrasive cleaners, as
these will scratch the product.
• Food with spices or colored food, such as curry or tomatoes,
could cause staining. Staining will not affect the performance of
the product and is not covered by the Tupperware guarantee.
