Create and Send a Message
When preparing a message, use the alphanumeric keypad to enter text
using one of these methods:
•
Multitap
Press the number keys on the alphanumeric keypad until the
letter/number/symbol you want displays in the text box.
Similar to entering text on a cell phone. See Chapter 1

Predictive text
Press the corresponding key for each letter only once and the
smart remote will use the dictionary to complete the word.

1.
Press the
HOME
key, scroll to Messaging, and press in the joystick.
2.
Press the Options soft key, scroll to New Message, and press the Select
soft key to display the To: screen.
Note: If your contact list is empty, you will be prompted to create a
new contact.
3.
Scroll through your list of contacts, choose the contact for this message,
and display the New Message screen.
Note: You may also add a new contact by selecting the New
Contact option.
4.
Press the Options soft key, scroll to Set text entry mode, and press the
Select soft key.
5.
Scroll to multitap or predictive text and press the Select soft key.
Note: You can change the text entry mode at any time. See Change
Text Entry Mode later in this section.
6.
Enter your message.
