22. Avoid the use of an extension cord because the extension cord may overheat and cause risk of fire.
However, if you have to use an extension cord, the cord must be No.14 AWG minimum size and rated
not less than 1,875 watts. The extension cord must be a three-wire cord with grounding type plug and
cord connection. The extension cord shall not be more than 20 ft. in length.
23. Reference Fig. 1. for grounding instructions. This heater is for use on 120 volts. The cord has a
plug as shown in Fig. 1A. An adapter as shown in Fig.1C is available for connecting three-blade
grounding type plugs to two-slot receptacles. The grounding pin extending from the adapter must
be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should
not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.
