4.2. Crimp Height Calibration
Touching the “Calibration” button on the Main Menu screen will result in the Crimp Height Calibration screen.
Before a kit can be run, all parts in the kit must be calibrated for crimp height analysis.
When a kit is selected for the job, all parts in the kit will need to be calibrated.
All parts in the kit should be calibrated after changing or adjusting tooling, or after long periods of inactivity.
During the calibration process two values are established for the part. The part’s crimp height adjustment offset
is set to a value that results in a crimp height that is within 0.127 millimeters [0.0005 inches] of the part’s
nominal crimp height. Also, a position sensor value is equated to the parts nominal crimp height.
The parts can be calibrated one at a time or as a kit.
The
symbol indicates that the part must be calibrated.
