4.4.7 Calc. Checksum
This function will calculate the CheckSum value of the flash media plugged in the source
port. The CheckSum calculating area will base on the "copy area" you set. If you set "Data
only", this function will calculate data area only; if you set "Whole media", the CheckSum
value will be calculated based on the whole size of flash media. Be aware that even two flash
medias have the same data, if the capacity has any difference, their CheckSum value will be
different.
❶
Enter Function 4.4 Utility, and then choose Function 4.4.7 Calc. Checksum.
❷
Press the OK button and this function will start executing.
❸
After finishing calculating, there will be a 8-digit value produced.
Note:
•
The CheckSum will take the same time as copy, if the capacity is large, you have to wait for longer time
to finish.
•
The function is not for comparing purpose. If you want to double check data correctness, please use the
Compare function which can provide you the safest and fastest bit-for-bit comparison. Checksum is a
calculation which is used to check if the source is intact. It adopts a very complicated calculation, which
can reach a higher precision.
