Cascademax® Filter pumps
The Ubbink Cascademax® pumps are a high quality product that is based on state of the art products. The pumps are equipped with an economical, high performance and very reliable
asynchronous motor and a ceramic shaft. The pumps can be accurately positioned in their installation location using the screwable feet. The Cascademax® pumps are especially suitable
for the application as a stream and waterfall pump.
Special features
The Cascademax® pumps possess numerous special features that differs them from other pond pumps:
HEP High Efficiency Pump
A solid and high performance pump with an especially low consumption of energy that is suitable for continuous use.
AMS Asynchronous Motor System
Top performance and very quite.
NSS – No Sponge System
Low maintenance because of its specially formed housing with precision intakes, where the filter foam that is vulnerable for inspections is disposed of.
TPS – Thermal Protection System
Additional protection against overheating through the integrated thermo switch.
CST – Ceramic Shaft Technique
Increased degree of efficiency through the reduced friction and quite running of the motor because of the shaft that is manufactured from high quality ceramic.
Safety regulations
The voltage supply must comply with the product specifications. If necessary, inform yourself as to which connection regulations you have to apply with your local electricity supplier.
Do not connect the pump and / or the mains cable if these do not accord to these specified regulations.
Pumps must only be operated in swimming baths, swimming and garden ponds when they are equipped with a fault voltage circuit breaker (FI switch) with a nominal voltage of ≤
30mA. The pump must not be operated when individuals are in the water. Please contact your local electrical shop for any further details.
Never use the cable to carry the pump and never pull them out of the pond using the cable.
• Never remove the plug by cutting it from the electric cable and never shorten the cable. If these regulations are not adhered to, the guarantee will be terminated immediately.
Make sure that the connections (plug and socket) are dry.
Always turn the electricity off before cleaning or maintaining the pump at the pond.
• This pump is suitable for operation in water temperatures of minimum 4°C up to a maximum of 35°C.
• A replacement of the electric cable is not possible. The pump has to be disposed of if the cable is damaged.
• The pump must not run dry. This can lead to irreparable damage.
Initiating
- Read these operating instructions carefully before use.
- Never let the pump run dry
- Install the pump on a stable underground at least 30 cm and at the most 100 cm under the water surface that is free of sludge, sand and other dirt.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The pump does not require any lubricating or other special maintenance work. Once in a while, all you have to do is remove any dirt from the inlet slots of the protection caps on the
pump housing and if necessary clean this using clean water.
• The pump must be demounted in case of intense dirt.
1. Remove the hose connection with hose nozzle and double pipe collar.
2. Remove the sealing ring from the pressure joint (see fig. 1)
3. Press both of the click latches on the pump housing inwards and lift the upper part of this upwards (see fig. 2 and 3)
Now you can clean the lower and upper part of the housing.
4. Loosen the screws of the pump housing and remove this from the part of the motor. Then remove the rotor from the motor (see fig. 4 - 7). Now the motor and rotor can be
cleaned.
5. After the cleaning has been completed, mount the pump back together in the opposite order.
• The necessity for cleaning is dependant on the respective application situation as well as the degree of fouling in your pond
• Make sure that the pump does not freeze during the winter time. For this reason, the pump should be removed from the pond in sufficient time and store it in a safe place where it
cannot freeze, e.g. in a bucket of water indoors.
Cleaning / Replacing the Rotor
- Clean the rotor using a soft cloth. Never use a chemical detergent!
- Avoid any contact with the ceramic shaft so that it cannot become damaged.
- Attention: The 8 screws on the motor should not be loosened. If these are removed, the guarantee becomes invalid.
