Information for this Operating Instruction
Please read the Operating Instruction before first use and familiarise yourself with the device. Absolutely, please observe the safety instructions for correct and safe use. Also, please
store this operating instruction thoroughly! In case of ownership change, pass on the operating instruction. All work with this device must only be carried out according to this instruc-
tion.
Application Area
PowerClear 5000/9000 are combined devices usable under water. They consist of a pond pump with integrated UVC-device for pre-filtering and UVC-irradiation of normal soiled
water. These devices must only be used in ponds with or without fish population. Use in swimming pools is prohibited. Ubbink is not liable for damages caused by incorrect use or not
observing this operating instruction.
Safety Notices
Ubbink has manufactured this device according to the actual state-of-the-art and existing safety regulations. Nevertheless, dangers to persons and assets can still arise from this
device, if it is incorrectly used or not used according to the intended purpose or if the safety notices are not observed.
- The device must not be operated if persons are in the water!
- At first, before you start working on the device or reaching into the water, always pull the mains plug of the device in the water!
- Before connecting to the mains, compare the electric data of the power supply with the type plate on the package or device.
- The device must only be operated from a socket with earthing contact, which conforms to the respective valid national regulations and with the earthed conductor connected to
the device.
- The device must be protected by a fault-current circuit breaker (FI or RCD) with a rated fault current of 30 mA.
- Extension cables used must be approved for outside application and have an earthing contact. The extension cable must have a cross-section of not less than H05-RNF.
- The mains plug and all connector locations must always be kept dry!
- The connecting cable of the device should be routed protected to exclude damages.
- Never carry or pull the device by the connecting cable!
- Never operate the device without flowing water or without filter sponge.
- The device must not be operated in case of defect cable or housing! Replacement of the mains connection cable is not possible; if the cable is damaged the device must be
disposed!
- It is not allowed to open the device or its accompanying parts, if it is not explicitly mentioned in the operating instruction. The same applies also for modifications to the device.
- For your own safety, contact an electrician in case of questions and problems!
- PowerClear should only be operated at a water temperature from +5 to +35 °C.
Assembly
Attention! Dangerous UV-Radiation.
The radiation from an UVC-lamp is dangerous for eyes and skin also in small doses! The function of the UVC-lamp should, therefore, only be checked through the provided inspection
glass. The UVC-lamp should also not be operated in a defective housing or outside the UVC-housing.
Installing Device
- Assemble flow controller, telescope tube and fountain jets and screw onto the connector thread of the UVC-housing.
- Adjust the telescope tube to the desired height and align vertically.
- Height and shape of the fountain depend on the used fountain jet.
- Close the second outlet at the flow controller or use it for the hose connection with a water gargoyle or stream course.
- The fountain height as well as the water quantity for the second outlet can be separately adjusted with the respective flow controller.
Positioning Device
Position the device in the pond horizontally on a solid basis free from sludge in such a way that it is fully covered with water.
Switching on/off Device
Insert the mains plug into the socket or pull it out for switching the device on or off. The UVC-device will only be switched on, if the housing is closed due to an installed safety switch.
Attention! Dangerous Electric Voltage
In case of defective cables or components, device parts and the pond water may be dangerously life. Therefore, always pull the mains plug at first before working on the device or
reaching into the water.
