DESCRIPTION
The number of people using this kind of belts continues to grow (aged people, patients with spinal injuries related to different accidents, disabled persons…). In this way, the use
of wheelchairs is considerably growing to provide these patients a current life that fits the actual lifestyle. Wheelchairs provide a greater mobility and freedom to those people in
question. These patients can’t maintain an orthostatic position in the chair because they can’t control the low part of their bodies due to involuntary movements. In other cases, the
patient refuses to keep seated in the wheelchair the time required.
Our company UBIOTEX has developed a huge range of products indicated to patients who must remain in a correct seated position (see image) and also to prevent the
emergence of bedsores or current falls. In this way, the daily activity of health professionals is notably improved. In the same way, there are other kinds of pathologies which entail
the need of using mechanical restraints to immobilize all the body parts of the patient in general. This product is usually used in extremes situations with the purpose of controlling
problematic behaviours which involve a high risk to patients, to other patients and also to health professionals.
Therefore, our company UBIOTEX has developed a huge range of products indicated to immobilize the patient if necessary.
INDICATIONS
As previously mentioned, the use of this kind of product is connected both to the placement and to the correct immobilization process of the patient if necessary.
In other words, the product is recommended to geriatric patients with motor disabilities, senile dementia, Alzheimer, cerebral paralysis, spinal injuries and to any other kind of
patients who must remain in a correct seated position. Furthermore, the product prevents the emergence of bedsores or current falls and also improves the daily activity of health
professionals in question.
CLASSIFICATION
UBIOTEX BED RESTRAINTS are considered a type I medical device (rule 1). The conformity evaluation was carried out by following the indications in Annex VII (Declaration CE
of Conformity) of the Directive 93/42/CEE and the Directive 2007/47.
In accordance with Annex IX of the Directive 93/42/CEE and its subsequent modifications, the health product is defined as:

Rule 1.
– All non-invasive products are included in the Type I category unless one of the following rules is applicable.

1.-WHEELCHAIR / ARMCHAIR ABDOMINAL RESTRAINT BELT
The main function of this restraint belt is to prevent the patient from leaning, sliding or even suffering lesions due to bad postures. Therefore, the product helps the patient to keep
a correct seated position. This product is available with padded or breathable material.
A.- ABDOMINAL
B.- ABDOMINAL RESTRAINT WITH STRAPS:
In contrast with the abdominal restraint belt, this product provides a greater fastening because the user remains upright (without forward body inclinations).
