4.10 Removing the spliced fiber
i. Open the sleeve heater cover.
ii. Open the windshield cover.
iii. Hold the left-fiber holder and open the cover of the right-fiber holder.
iv. Open the cover of the left-fiber holder.
v. Hold the both sides of the spliced fiber and remove the fiber from the Swift
KR12A carefully not to break.
4.11 Heating the sleeve
i. Move the center of sleeve to the splice point. Make sure the strength
member in the sleeve is downward.
ii. Put the sleeve to the center of the sleeve heater.
iii. Apply tension to the fiber downward so that the sleeve heater cover is closed
automatically.
iv. Press
to start sleeve heating.
v. The LED is turned off when sleeve heating is completed.
vi. Open the heater cover and remove the fiber. Do not touch the sleeve and
heater part immediately after heating.
vii. Check to ensure there is no bubble, fragments or dust in the sleeve at all
times.
