Ndiluted
Carbon monoxide is easily diluted with additional excess air, and disperses quickly in the presence of additional air. This
characteristic has led to some references of a value that can compare like for like readings.
Newer BPI standards reference “CO Undiluted” values in addition to “CO As Measured”. The SmartBellPlus measures
CO and calculates O2. From this information it is easy to determine CO Undiluted using the multiplication factor from
the following table.
Example: CO Measured – 50 ppm, O2 Calculated – 7.2%, Multiplication factor from table – 1.5
CO Air Free = CO measured x Factor = 50 ppm x 1.5 = 75 ppm
