the automatic switch-off, lift up the iron and move it gently from side to side. The control lamp for the
automatic switch-off goes out and the iron will heat up again.

The soleplate has a build-up of scale
because it has not been self-cleaned
regularly.
Do the self-cleaning process. Remember
to do it at least every two weeks.
