Determining Installation:

The Solaris Air Ionizer is uniquely designed to be installed either internally or externally to

most HVAC systems. External mounting is typically done when metal return ducting is pres-

ent.  Installing the Orion prior to any system filtration ensures that any charged particulate

matter will collect into the HVAC filter.

The Air Ionizer system may also be installed internally on most furnace and air-conditioning

systems.

The installing contractors take all installation and equipment variables into consideration

when determining the final installation point.

Preparation for external mounting only:

Use the external adapter plate when installing the Air Ionizer to metal duct work. First rotate

the probes 90 degrees. Use the supplied self tapping 10-32-1/4” screw. Attaching the plate

ensures that there will be no air leakage from the duct work after the installation.

External plate

Rotate probes 90 degrees

Attach bracket

Air flow should pass over both probes at the same

time for optimum performance

Installation Procedure

1. Disconnect main power to the HVAC system(turn applicable breakers off)

2. Determine a location on the duct, use a pencil to mark the location of both probes on

the duct work.

3. Drill 2 1/4 dia. holes. 4. Mount the Orion with supplied screws

5. Attach power cord

6. Attach leads of power cord to a Solaris IAQ Module (sold seperatly) or a  24 VAC

(min 10 va)transformer (polarity is not a concern).

7. Restore power

8. The Air IonizerWW has a white power indicator on the front of the label (ensure that

the led is illuminated).

IMPORTANT:

Probes should be a minimum of

1-1/2 inches from any metal.

Electrical Requirements

This product operates on 24 VAC

It is recommended to connect to a dedicated transformer.

if connecting to the Solaris IAQ module - connect only to the designated port

labled “ Air Ionizer”

Preparation for internal mounting only:

Attach the magnet to the Air Ionizer with the supplied 10-32-1/4” screw. You can also use

supplied self tapping screws to permanently mount the Orion.

Important! Note the position of the probes

Note the location of the

probes for proper air flow

Installation procedure:

1. Disconnect main power to the HVAC system(turn applicable breakers off).

2. Remove access door to the equipment

3. Mount the Air Ionizer either with the magnet or with supplied screws

4. Attach power cord.

5. Attach leads of power cord to a Solaris IAQ Module (sold seperatly) or a  24 VAC

(min 10 va)transformer (polarity is not a concern).

6. Restore power

7. The Air Ionizer has a white power indicator on the front of the label (ensure that the

led is illuminated).

Maintenance:

Periodically it is recommended to clean the brushes to ensure years of optimum perfor-

mance. This is a common practice when changing the HVAC filters.

To clean the brushes simply, disconnect the power. Remove the Air Ionizer if there is no

immediate access to the brushes. The brushes can be cleaned using compressed air or a

clean rag to dislodge any accumulated dust.
