Install mattress with proper specifications. If applicable, ensure that mattress handles are placed under the
mattress and do not interfere with siderails mechanism.
17. If bed is equipped with bed exit detection, perform a zero procedure on the bed after all equipment has been
installed.
Zeroing procedures
ATTENTION
• Patient must be out of bed.
Zeroing procedure for a bed with bed exit only
Procedure:
1.
Bed is electrically powered up. Ensure sleep surface is completely flat, siderails are raised and put the bed
elevation system at intended height of use. Apply the brakes.
2. Put required equipments, accessories and mattress on the bed.
3. Ensure bed is not being interfered with or in contact with the wall. Do not touch bed.
4. Simultaneously, lightly press and hold the Detection 1 and Detection 2 buttons for the bed exit control on the
footboard control.
a. When green LED lights begin flashing hold the buttons. This indicates ZERO procedure is in process.
i.Two beeps indicate the procedure was successful; release the buttons.
b. If amber LED lights are flashing and a single beep sounds, this indicates that the procedure was not
successful and should be redone. Ensure the bed is completely flat and that there is no interference.
Zeroing procedure for a bed with display screen with bed exit only
Procedure:
1.
Bed is electrically powered up. Ensure sleep surface is completely flat, siderails are raised and put the bed
elevation system in intended height of use. Apply the brakes.
2. Put required equipments, accessories and mattress on the bed.
3. Ensure bed is not being interfered with or in contact with the wall. Do not touch bed.
4. Enter the Fall risk management menu from the display screen on the footboard.
5. Enter ID password if required.
6. Lightly press the Zero button on the display screen. Follow the instructions and press Zero to start zeroing or
press Cancel to return to Fall risk management menu.
7. Ensure not to touch bed during procedure.
8. The zeroing is successfully completed when message appears, then screen returns to Fall risk management
menu.
9. If procedure fails, a message appears on screen. Press OK to automatically return to Zero menu.
10.
Ensure the bed is completely flat and that there is no interference. Start over the procedure.
