Zeroing procedures
ATTENTION
• Patient must be out of bed.
• A zeroing procedure must be performed each time new accessories are installed or removed from the bed,
or each time a new patient is admitted in the bed. Failure to perform the zeroing, or a zeroing that is not
performed correctly, may render the bed exit detection system non-functional and increase the risk of a
patient fall.
Zeroing procedure for a bed with bed exit only
Procedure:
1.
Bed is electrically powered up. Ensure that the sleep surface is completely flat, the siderails are raised, and
put the bed elevation system at the intended height of use. Apply the brakes.
2. Put the required equipment, accessories and mattress on the bed. Patient must be out of the bed from this
step going forward.

4. Simultaneously press and hold for 3 seconds both the Detection 1 and Detection 2
buttons for the bed exit controls on the footboard control.
a.
The green LED lights will be flashing for the 3 seconds. This indicates that the zeroing procedure is in
process.
i.Two short audible beeps from the head of the bed indicates that the zeroing procedure was
successful; release the buttons. The patient can now be put in the bed.
b.
If amber LED lights are flashing and a single 3-second beep is heard from the head of
the bed, this indicates that the zeroing procedure was not successful and must be redone. Do not
reintegrate the patient in the bed until the zeroing procedure has been successfully completed.
