BASE, FRAME AND LITTER
The bed for mental
care environments can be configured with casters and braking system, or with the option of
a floor mount.
IMPORTANT
The bed is equipped with base covers at head and foot ends of the bed. Base covers must be kept in place while
bed is in use to preserve electrical and mechanical components.
Brake, neutral and steer
Brake, neutral and steer can be activated manually with one of the 4 pedals located at
each corner of the bed.
Engage brakes:
1. To engage, activate completely one of the 4 pedals in the direction of the red
arrow.
2. Ensure brakes are engaged.
3. To disengage brakes, activate one of the pedals once in the direction of the green
arrow to put in neutral position. Activate completely in the direction of the green
arrow for steer position.
Neutral positioning:
1. Bed is in a neutral positioning when pedals at head and foot ends are in flat
position.
2. Activate pedal on the red arrow side for brake or on green arrow side for steer.
Engage steer:
1. To engage steer, activate completely the pedals in the direction of the green
arrow.
2. Move the bed on a distance of approximately 2 feet towards desired direction for
the steering casters activation. A “click” sound indicates that the caster is locked
for steer motion.
Safe lock braking system (optional)
Bed can be equipped with the safe lock braking system which removes the pedals situated at the four corners
of the bed in order to keep the bed in place and to prevent patient from moving the bed. This option allows the
healthcare providers, and maintenance staff, to activate the brakes, neutral and steer positions of the bed using
the tamper-resistant brake tool intended for this purpose.
