Sprinkler will not
turn on manually
De-‐pressurize the
mainline or sub-‐
lateral piping
before attempting
the last two
possible root
causes
The seal on the foot
valve is defective.
An interior chamber
within the lower
sprinkler body is
blocked or clogged.
Remove and replace the foot valve.
Disassembly the sprinkler and
using compressed air blow the
control pipe backwards to remove
any clogged debris.

Bottom inlet screen
to the foot valve is
clogged
An interior chamber
within the lower
sprinkler body is
blocked or clogged
Disassemble the sprinkler and
remove the foot valve. Inspect the
inlet screen and remove any
accumulated debris, then re-‐
assemble.
Disassembly the sprinkler and
using compressed air blow the
control pipe backwards to remove
any clogged debris.
