8.3 Check and fill in engine oil
Make sure that the engine oil is at the upper level of the
oil filler opening. Add oil if necessary.
Top up the engine oil:
Step 1: Switch off the generator and disconnect the
consumer.
Step 2: Open and remove the side cover of the genera-
tor.
Step 3: Remove oil filler cap and check oil level.

Step 4: Clean the area around the filling opening.
Step 5: If the oil level is below the lower level line, slowly
fill in oil until the required level is reached. Ne-
ver exceed the maximum fill level!
Select the suitable engine oil according to the tempera-
ture.
Recommended engine oil: SAE 10W30

Step 6: Check the oil level and screw the oil filler cap
back in.
Step 7: Refit the cover.
8.4 Ground generator
Step 1: Check that no power consumer is connected to
the generator.
Step 2: Check earthing. Proper grounding of the genera-
tor prevents electric shock in the generator or
connected electrical equipment. Proper
grounding also prevents static electricity,
which often builds up in ungrounded equip-
ment..
