BEFORE THE FIRST USE
Take all the parts of the appliance out of the packing, and remove all labels and stickers.
Clean the appliance thoroughly (See section CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE). Wipe with a
damp cloth.
Do not use a household cleaner or abrasive material either inside or outside the
plastic parts.
Before switching on, make sure that the voltage of your supply is the same as indicated under
the Kettle (11) (230 V, 50 Hz).
Fill the Kettle (11) with the maximum quantity of cold water («MAX») and boil the water 2 -3
times.
If the water is very hard, powdery deposit may be formed or the water appears cloudy. This is a
normal calcium built-up, and in no way harmful.
Do not use the boiled water, dispose it immediately.
The Teapot (7) and Brewing Basket (10) should be rinsed carefully.
INSTRUCTION FOR USE
Boiling Water in the Kettle (11)
Remove the Kettle (11) from the Central Connection (5). Fill it with the required quantity of
water, but never above the maximum water-level mark «MAX». Make sure that you do not
spill any water on the Base (1) or Warming Plate (3).
Warning!
If the Kettle (11) has just boiled, it will be full of steam, which will escape as soon as the
Lid (12) is opened.
Hold the Handle (17) firmly in one hand, grip the Lid’s (12) knob in the other, and pull the
Lid (12) straight up. As soon as it separates from the Kettle (11), move it out of the steam.
Close the Lid (12). Press the Lid (12) until it clicks into place.
Place the Kettle (11) on the Central Connection (5), and insert the Plug (6) into the wall
socket.
Push the Kettle’s On/Off Switch (13) downwards. The Kettle’s indicator light will illuminate
to show that the appliance is switched on.
The Kettle (11) switches off automatically a few seconds after the water has come to the
boiling. However, this automatic cut-out operates only when the Lid (12) is closed securely.
The Kettle’s indicator light will extinguish once it switches off.
A further quantity of water can be boiled once the appliance has cooled down (this will take
a few minutes).
Remove the Plug (6) from the wall socket after use.
Warning!
Do not switch the Kettle (11) on if it contains less than one cup of water. Misuse of this kind
will shorten the life of the element.
If the Kettle (11) is accidentally switched on when it does not contain sufficient amount of
water, a boil-dry device will automatically switch it off. Wait until the Kettle (11) cools down
