4.2 Erasing codes:
CAUTION: By deleting the Diagnostic Trouble Codes the scan tool may not only erase the codes from
the vehicle’s on-board computer but also the “freeze-frame image” data and the manufacturer-specific
extended data. Furthermore the I/M readiness monitor status for all vehicle monitors is reset to the status
“Not ready” or “Not completed”. Do not erase the codes until after the system has been completely
checked by a technician.
1) If you would like to erase the DTCs select
“2. ERASE”
from the main menu by pressing the
OK/ENTER
button.

If the scan tool is not connected or no connection has been established with the vehicle refer to
“Reading codes” Points 1 to 6 in Paragraph 4.1.
2) The message
“ERASE? YES NO”
appears and must be confirmed by you.
3) If you do not want to continue with erasing the codes press the
SCROLL
button to leave
the menu item.
4) If you want to continue with erasing the codes press the
OK/ENTER
button.
5) If the codes have been successfully erased the message
“ERASE COMPLETED”
appears in the display.
Press the
ENTER
button to return to the
Main menu.
6) If the codes have not been erased the message
“ERASE FAILED!”.
Press the
OK/ENTER
button to return to the
Main menu

HOT KEY:
Press the
SCROLL
button and hold it down for 3 seconds so that you can erase the DTCs more
quickly than via the main menu.
4.3 CALL UP I/M READINESS STATUS:
Important: The I/M readiness function is used to check the operation of the emission system in OBD-2
compliant vehicles. This excellent function can be used before a vehicle has to be checked for observance
of the national emission programmes. An I/M readiness status result “NO” does not necessarily show that
the tested vehicle will not pass the national I/M inspection.
