6.2
Dual functionality
The Clave DECT is a dual-mode device in a shared hardware. This means that the user can switch
between the functionalities by using the slider switch. Firmware updates and configuration are managed
via the PC Setup tool. The table below presents the differences between the 2 modes.

Base Station (Fixed Part)
Acts as DECT base for the Clave Headsets;
Slider is placed at the bottom (towards the USB connector);
It is possible to verify the current setting of the Clave DECT Dongle in
the PC Tool;
Headset (Portable Part)
Enables DECT access for a USB desktop phone on the UH VoIP System;
Slider is placed at the top;
It is possible to verify the current setting of the Clave DECT Dongle in
the PC Tool;
