Introduction

The Air Compressor is used to supply clean, dry, and oil-free high-pressure air to the Air
Assist part of the laser system.  Before attempting to use this option, you

MUST

completely understand how the laser system and the Air Assist option operate.  Please
make sure that you have read and understood the Users Manual before continuing.

Installation

Please refer to the diagram on the next page.

1.  Make sure the laser system is turned off.
2.  Prepare the fitting on the Air Compressor and the Air Assist Control Box by pushing in

the lever until it clicks.

3. Plug one end of the Blue Coiled Hose into the Air Compressor fitting and the other

end into the Air Assist Control Box fitting until it locks into place.

4. If you have the X Series Laser System, plug one end of the Control Wire to the Air

Compressor and the other end into the Air Assist Control Box.  Some models have
round Conexall fittings while others have a terminal strip.  If yours has a terminal strip,
attach the Red wire to the “+” and the Black wire to the “-“ terminal using a flat tipped
screwdriver.

5. Plug in the Air Compressor into a wall outlet.  Please check the rating on your Air

Compressor for the proper power requirements.

6. The Air Compressor has a three way switch, “ON”, “OFF”, and “AUTO”. Push the

switch to the left and it will turn the compressor “ON” all of the time.  This is useful for
non-computer controlled Air Assisted systems such as the M Series Laser System or
it can be used on the X Series if you wish.  “OFF” is obviously off.  The “AUTO”
position allows the compressor to turn on and off only when it receives a signal from
the laser system that has the computer controlled Air Assist system such as the X
Series.  As long as you have selected the Air Assist option to be “ON” in the printer
driver, the Air Compressor will automatically turn “ON” when the file runs and “OFF”
when it is complete.  This feature is

ONLY

available on the X Series Laser System.

Please refer to the instructions on how to use the Air Assist option for more
details on using the Air Compressor.
