UpWalker H200 Series Repair Instructions –
HOW TO REPLACE UPPER SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
Replacing Upper Support Assembly
Material:
Brake cable end cap
Tool:
Pair of needle nose pliers
4mm hex wrench
Procedure
1.
Rotate the UpWalker forward and allow the upper handle tubes to rest on an object, so that the
rear wheels are pointing up. Avoid resting the brake levers on the floor or on an object, because
this will put a force on the brake.
2.
Flip up the direction lock lever of the rear wheel that is connected to the upper support to be
replaced. Swivel the wheel so that it points to the front end of the walker.
3.
Locate the brake cable between the wheel and the fork. Use the needle nose pliers to remove
the end cap at the tip of the brake cable.
4.
Use the 4mm hex wrench to unscrew the nut on the brake cable setting screw. You may need to
hold the set screw with the needle nose pliers while unscrewing. Pull the cable setting screw of
the brake cable.
5.
Rotate the UpWalker backward and allow it to rest on 4 wheels.
6.
Pull the brake cable out of the cable adjuster screw on top of the plastic frame joint above the
wheel fork.
7.
Remove the end cap at the lower end of the vertical height adjustment oval tube. You may need
to poke into the round holes on both sides of the oval tube to disable the latches on the end cap
before removing it.
8.
Unscrew the thumb screw on the height setting ring and remove the ring from the oval tube.
9.
Hold the armrest of the upper support assembly and pull the vertical height adjustment oval
tube upward and out of the plastic joint at the top of the frame. Put the removed upper support
assembly aside.
10.
Hold the new upper support assembly and examine that it matches the piece just removed.
11.
Remove the end cap at the lower end of the vertical height adjustment oval tube. Unscrew the
thumb screw on the height setting ring and remove the ring from the oval tube.
12.
Hold the armrest of the new upper support assembly and thread the vertical height adjustment
oval tube into and through the hole in the plastic joint at the top of the frame. Ensure that the
bushing tube at the lower end of the frame joint is not knocked out of place.
13.
Clamp the height setting ring on the oval tube. Ensure that the thumb screw is located outside
of the frame and pairs with the thumb screw on the other side of the walker.
