*2 For civil-application vehicles
A special switch should be turned ON to make all the turn indicators be
flashing (truck emergency state); in so doing a pilot lamp in the handle is turned
on. The other sound and light alarms are turned on by corresponding senders or
switches.
Head lamps.
The direction of the head lamp beam is adjusted by two screws
located under the head lamp moulding. Screw 10 (Fig. 93) is designed to adjust the
light direction in the upright plane (upwards and downwards), and screw 9 — in the
horizontal plane (to the left and to the right).

Adjust and check the adjustment with the help of a screen. The screen can be
either stationary or portable. The surface of the screen should be flat and mat. The
width of the screen should be 2.5 m minimum.
The screen should be marked out. For this purpose apply three vertical lines
(Fig. 94). The intermediate axial line conforms to the crossing of intermediate lon-
gitudinal plane of the screen, the two lines from the right and left of it are the lines
on which the centres of the head lamps are projected. The horizontal line A-A is
also applied onto the screen. The distance «h» from the line A-A to the site onto
which the truck is put equals the distance from the centre of the headlamp to the
surface of this site.
The screen plane must be perpendicular to the site surface. The deviation from
the perpendicularity must not exceed 5 mm per meter. The site where the meas-
urements are to be performed must be even and horizontal with a height of uneven
places 5 mm maximum and a deviation from the plane not more than 5 mm per
meter. The measurements should be performed in darkness (for example, in a dark
room). The ambient temperature, when measuring, should be 10 to +30
o
C.
The headlamps are to be adjusted with a fully equipped truck, namely it
should be fully primed and equipped by all auxiliary accessories and tools.
