3. Measure the clearance between bracket 7 and cushion 4.
A clearance exceeding 1 mm should be eliminated by using adjusting plates 9.
4. Fit bolts 10 and tighten nuts 8.

Description of clutch and gearbox design as well as instructions for their
operation and maintainance are given in the Operation Manual issued by the
Yaroslavl Motor Works.
Clutch Release Control
Clutch release control is of mechanical type, with air booster. Air cylinder 20 (Fig.
31) of the booster is mounted on the gearbox housing and actuates shaft lever 18 of
the clutch release fork. The cylinder is controlled by air valve 1, which is fitted on tie
rod 4. Hose 8 connects valve 1 with the truck’s air system.
When acting on clutch pedal 16, the effort is transmitted via lever 11 and the part
of tie rod 9 to the rod of air valve 1, opening it. Compressed air from the truck’s air
system arrives at cylinder 20 via hose 19, which additionally is acting on lever 18.
To adjust opening moment of the air valve, provided that air is available in air
system of the truck, follow this procedure :
- disconnect hose 19 from valve 1;
- unscrew adjusting bolt 3 ensuring clearance between the bolt and valve rod;
