23. When the truck operates with the autonomous heating unit running, it is
prohibited:
- to sleep in the cab with the autonomous heating unit running;
- operation of the unit with the suction and exhaust branch pipes completely
or partially cutoff;
- refuelling the truck with heating unit running;
- to leave the running heating unit without supervision;
- start and operation of the unit poured over with fuel;
- to use the heating unit without a gas exhaust pipe.
When using the autonomous heating unit, mind if no care is taken in the
course of its operation, as well as its faults can be the reason of fire or poisoning by
exhaust gases.
PRECAUTIONS
Proper operation of the truck and its long service life can be ensured if you
observe all recommendations given in this Manual.
1. When running the first 1000 km (50 hours of engine operation), comply with
the rules described in Section “Running-in (Operation) of New Truck”.
2. After the engine cold starting do not allow it to operate with a high engine
speed.
3. When the engine is running at a full load, its instantaneous stop is not per-
missible. The engine should run at its minimum idling speed within 1-3 min.
4. To prevent air penetration in the fuel
-
feed system do not burn all the fuel
from the fuel tank.
5. After the truck has run a distance of 1000 km (50 hours of engine operation)
and the technical maintenance is performed after running
-
in, the network be-
tween the air intake nozzle and connecting pipe of the engine intake manifolds
should be dismantled, but the gasket should be kept.
6. See that the preheater fuel pump is adjusted correctly, not allowing open
flame in the gas conduit of the heat exchanger.
7. Do not allow the preheater to operate for more than 15 sec without a coolant
in the heat exchanger. Upon washing the truck of its fording, engage the pump unit
for 2-3 min to remove water from the preheater air duct.
8. Start travelling after the coolant has been heated up to 40 °C minimum. The
optimum temperature of the fluid should be 75-100 °C.
9. To drain the fluid from the engine cooling system completely, place the
truck on a flat site or incline it forward.
10. Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system through three cocks (on
the heat exchanger, on the pump unit and on the water pump inlet branch) with the
open cab heater cock and the open plugs of the radiator and preheater filling pipe.
If water is used in the engine cooling system in an emergency situation, remove the
rest of water from the preheater liquid pump by engaging the pump unit for 10-15
sec to avoid the fan impeller freezing-on. Upon draining the fluid, close the cocks.
11. At an ambient temperature lower than –10
o
C, cut off the oil cooler by
closing the cock located on the cylinder block.
12. Travelling with the locked differential in the transfer box on hard and dry
roads is not recommended, because it results in the rapid wear of the differential
and tires. The locking lever should be set in the extreme front position, when the
differential is unlocked.
