4.6.6 Lighting and Alarm System
Lighting and alarm devices include two headlamps, front and back lamps, registration
plate lamp; searchlight, backing light, master lighting, under bonnet lamp and dashboard lamp,
warning lamps located on the control panel.
Audio alarm
is given by electric signal of low and high tone. Signals are actuated by the
switch located on the understeering switches.
Direction and Braking Indication
Direction lights are switched on by the switch locat-
ed on the steering mast. When turning the switch handle clockwise, right turn lamps are switched
on: in the front lamp, side repeater and back lamp. When turning the switch handle counter-
clockwise, left turn lamps are switched on.
The switch returns into its initial position automatically.
Flasher provides discontinued light alarm. If a lamp in the lights fails, warning lamp on
the control panel is not on. All direction indicators (truck emergency condition) are switched on
by a special switch, herein a warning lamp is on. When footing the brake pedal, stop signals of tail
lights are on.
Other audio and light indicators are switched on by the corresponding sensors or switch-
es.
Lamps adjustment is done on the kerb-weight truck , i.e. the truck should be completely
fuelled and equipped with all auxiliary tools and devices.
Wheels should be inflated to the pressure corresponding to the full load. The truck
should be kept at temperature stated above during eight hours.
Lamps adjustment consists in initial angle of low beams.
Initial angle adjustment of low beam should be done with dedicated devices according to
the manuals for such devices.
4.6.6.1 Lamps Adjustment Depending on Truck Load
(if there is electric and me-
chanic low beam adjuster). To adjust low beam angle depending on the load, a dedicated electric
and mechanic low beam adjuster is installed. Adjuster control unit is located in the cab. Adjuster
switch handle is located on the control board, it should be positioned on “0” when the truck is in
kerb-weight load.
For Ural trucks with load weight not more than half maximal allowed weight for trans-
portation (see the Technical Specifications), adjuster switch handle should be in “0” position,
when driving with 50-75% load weight of maximal allowed weight for transportation, the handle
should be in “1” position, if the load weight exceeds 75% - the handle should be in “2” position.
For products on Ural chassis low beam angle adjustment with the adjuster should be
done according to Rules No. 48-01 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe,
herein switch handle positions can differ from the ones, described above.
