Troubleshooting
Cleaning the Air Filter
The
Filter
light will illuminate after 250 hours of operation. To clean the air filter,
1. Ensure that the unit is powered OFF.
2. Pull up on the tab at the bottom of the air intake filter to remove it from the unit.
3. Wash the filter with clean water, and let it dry.
4. Reinstall the filter on the unit.
5. Power the unit ON, and press the
Filter
button to reset the indicator light.
Cleaning the Unit
• Confirm the unit is turned OFF.
• Use a soft cloth dampened with water and mild detergent. Do not use solvent on plastic parts.
• Use a vacuum or brush to clean the outlet grille as well as the air intake behind the air filter.
• Clean the tank with water and mild detergent every few weeks to prevent the growth of mold, mildew and
bacteria. Do not put the water tank in the dishwasher.
Storing the Unit
1. Wait one day after turning OFF the unit before emptying the water tank.
2. Clean the unit, water tank and air filter.
3. Wrap the power cord on the storage band and secure it to the back of the unit.
4. Cover the unit with a plastic bag.
5. Store the unit upright in a dry, well-ventilated area.
Problem
Cause
Solution
Unit is not running. • Unit has reached its preset level.
• Water tank is full.
• Circuit breaker tripped.
• Unit is unplugged.
• Empty water tank and reinstall in unit; ensure
tank is seated properly.
• Reset circuit breaker; do not plug other devices
into the same outlet as the dehumidifier.
• Ensure unit is fully plugged into power source.
Unit is not
removing
enough moisture
from the air.
• Unit must operate longer.
• An object is obstructing the air intake.
• The humidity control is not set
low enough.
• Doors or windows are open.
• Room temperature is too low.
• There is a source of excessive water vapor
such as a kerosene heater in the room.
• Allow unit more time to operate.
• Move any objects, including curtains or
furniture, away from the unit.
• Set the unit at a lower humidity level.
• Ensure all doors and windows are
securely closed.
• Raise room temperature above 41°F.
• Remove the device creating excessive
water vapor.
Noisy operation
• The air filter is clogged.
• The unit is tilted instead of upright.
• The floor surface is not level.
• Remove and wash the air filter.
• Ensure the unit is on a level surface and is
sitting upright.
• Move the unit to a level surface.
Frost appears on
the coils.
• Normal operation
• The unit has an auto-defrost feature
which will activate until frost disappears.
Water on floor
• Hose drain outlet cover is loose or missing.
• Hose connection is loose when using
continuous drain mode.
• Replace or tighten outlet cover.
• Ensure hose connection is tight
and free of leaks.
